Trinity Forest Golf Club

Trinity Forest Golf Club, located in Dallas, Texas, is a private 18-hole golf course renowned for its links-style design reminiscent of classic courses in the Northeast and Great Britain. Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the course opened in 2016 on a reclaimed landfill site, transforming it into a rolling meadow with tall native grasses and dramatic bunkering.

The club was established with the vision of attracting prestigious golf championships back to Dallas and fostering camaraderie among its members and guests. It features an 18-hole championship course, a world-class practice academy, and a short course, all designed by Coore and Crenshaw. The clubhouse, designed by Mark Finlay Architects, embodies a bold and modern spirit, offering amenities such as dining facilities, locker rooms, and lounges.

In partnership with the Trinity River Audubon Center, Trinity Forest has implemented a Blackland Prairie Restoration Plan, creating additional habitats for native plants and animals. This effort has restored 75 acres of Blackland Prairie, one of the most endangered ecosystems in the country.

Trinity Forest hosted the AT&T Byron Nelson tournament in 2018 and 2019, bringing PGA Tour golf back to Dallas. However, after the 2019 event, the tournament moved to a different venue. The club also serves as the home course for Southern Methodist University’s men’s and women’s golf teams.

The course is known for its firm and fast conditions, with Champion Bermuda greens and Trinity Zoysia fairways. It plays to a par of 72 and stretches over 7,450 yards from the championship tees. The design emphasizes strategic play, with undulating terrain and diverse hole architectures challenging golfers of all skill levels.

Trinity Forest Golf Club has received accolades for its environmental practices, including Golf Digest’s 2018 Green Star Award. The club’s commitment to sustainability and its unique design make it a standout destination in the golfing community.
