Since 2010, TPC San Antonio’s Oaks course has been the venue for the Valero Texas Open. Situated in the dry outlands north of San Antonio, this Greg Norman-designed course stands out as one of the most strategically intriguing on the tour. It features assertive bunkering, several excellent short par 4s, and a number of uniquely challenging par 5s. Notably, the 18th hole is recognized as one of the tour’s most underrated and challenging closing holes, often leaving even the most skilled professionals feeling tested and frustrated. This course’s layout and challenges exemplify top-tier golf architecture.
