The Ram Rock course at Horseshoe Bay Resort, nestled in the Texas Hill Country, has frequently served as the venue for the Texas State Open, earning its reputation as a formidable challenge. Originally known as “Challenger,” this Robert Trent Jones Sr. design features a par-72 layout that spirals in a counter-clockwise formation. This unique design results in many doglegs that naturally benefit golfers who can shape their shots from right to left.

Characterized by rugged rock outcroppings that punctuate the landscape and an iconic island green on the par-3 fourth hole, Ram Rock offers a distinctive and unforgettable golfing experience. As one of the four 18-hole courses at Horseshoe Bay Resort, it stands out not only for its challenging gameplay but also for its striking natural beauty, making it a highlight for golf enthusiasts visiting the area.
